Serena 'hails' from Pleasant Ridge, Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. She had more than 20 years in the business world as a clothing buyer for her family owned men's and ladies stores 'Van Dykes' located in the metropolitan Detroit area.
Serena moved to HHI in 1999 and worked with her family business as well as becoming very involved in community on the Island. As the head of the Upper school parent network at Hilton Head Preparatory school for several years while her children attended school, she became very familiar with the area and about the community.
Serena's sons have now both graduated from the University of Michigan(thus she 'hails' from Michigan) both live and work in Chicago. Her daughter is currently attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. Recently married, Serena and her husband Tom are the proud 'parents' of 3 dogs, 4 cats, 6 children(combined) and 9 grandchildren(his).
Serena joined Collins Group Realty as a buyer specialist in 2005 and has her e-Pro certification and has received the Realtors service award each year. She is a past 3 year Director on the Hilton Head Board of Realtors and is currently the Vice President of the HHAAOR and serves on various committees for the Association, and is actively working to continue her Real estate education so that she can most effectively serve her clients.
