$5,000 Grant Award

Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine
This grant will cover the cost of diabetes treatment for 180 patients for one year.

$3,000 Grant Award

Hunger Coalition/Backpack Buddies
Funds supplied through the grant will be used to stock snack closets at the public schools on the Island. Social workers hand out healthy snacks to children needing additional food throughout the school day, helping students stay focused on their schoolwork.

$2,000 Viewer’s Choice Award

Jasper Animal Rescue Mission
The funds from this grant will purchase a new storage shed to house medical supplies, office supplies, and donated goods for the animals in their care.
Grant Program Details at a glance:
  • Complete the grant application through the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry to fund a specific project (see eligibility guidelines below) Applications that do not meet this criteria will not be considered.
  • The grant application deadline is April 30, 2024
  • Three (3) cash donations totaling $10,000 will be awarded
  • Our Grant Selection Committee will select two grants to receive a combined total of $8,000
  • Of the remaining applicants, our Grant Selection Committee will select 5 grant applicants to vie for the $2,000 Viewer’s Choice Award through public vote online. These 5 finalists will have 30 days to submit a 2-minute video to Collins Group Realty describing who they are and the scope and purpose of their project. Public voting begins on August 15th and closes on August 31, 2024, at midnight.
  • Winning charities are required to attend the awards event on September 19th at the Rowing & Sailing Center at Squire Pope Community Park from 4:30 to 6 pm

TERMS AND CONDITIONS | MORE DETAILS FOR 2024 GRANT APPLICATION

Introduction: Collins Group Realty will contribute philanthropic funds for tangible items and/or a project(s) that bolsters/achieves the mission of the non-profit organization and improves the lives of those it serves to select grant applicants.

Charitable Event: The Collins Group Realty (“CGR”) 2024 200th Home Sale Event is a promotional activity intended to benefit non-profit organizations located and serving the communities in the greater Hilton Head Island/Bluffton areas of Beaufort or Jasper County, South Carolina.  As a promotional and charitable event, CGR shall donate $10,000 upon the closing of its 200th real estate transaction during the 2024 calendar year. For the purposes of this Event, the term “home sale” refers to any closed transaction conducted by Collins Group Realty (home, villa, land, boat slip, commercial property, etc.).

Eligibility: To be eligible for receipt of a grant, any entity must be fully and properly licensed and lawfully authorized to do business as a charitable organization in Beaufort or Jasper County, South Carolina. A Qualified Charitable Entity must be properly established and operating as a 501(c)(3), non-profit entity pursuant to local codes and regulations, as well as State and Federal Tax laws. The grant application must be for an initiative, which is defined as a project, product, or service with high-impact results. It involves a series of coordinated activities with specific start and end dates, defined scope, and allocated resources, aimed at achieving a particular goal or objective. CGR shall receive the business/commercial/tax benefit(s), if any, arising out of the Event/donation. Operating/overhead costs*, religious/political initiatives, and academic scholarships are excluded from grant consideration. Grant winners will be ineligible to apply for a new grant award for the following year.

*Operating/overhead costs include rent, utilities, office supplies, payroll, accounting and legal fees, etc.

Grant Awards: Upon the closing of a contract for sale, and disbursement of the proceeds, from the 200th transaction, CGR shall donate a total of $10,000 to three grant applicants. The Grand Prize and Second Prize will receive a share of $8,000, no less than $2,000. The amount awarded will be determined by the 200th Home Sale Grant Selection Committee. The Third Prize of $2,000 will be awarded by popular vote. The Grant Selection Committee will select five (5) finalists for the public vote (“Viewer’s Choice Award”).

Video Submission: The five finalists selected by the grant selection committee will have 30 days to create and submit a 1-minute, low-to-no-budget video, that summarizes the mission of their organization and explains their proposed project as submitted in their grant application. These videos will be posted on social media and on the event website https://www.collinsgrouprealty.com/200thhomesale, for voter consideration.

Final Report: Winners will have one year to complete the project described in their grant application. Throughout that year, the non-profit organizations shall name Collins Group Realty as a sponsor/donor. This includes but is not limited to, displaying the Collins Group Realty logo on hardcopy and electronic publicities (signs, brochures, social media, website, etc.). The final report will comprise a concise, written summary and a 5-minute video of the project, the results, and its impact to share on social media and for future years’ marketing of the 200th Home Sale for Charity.
