A delicious way to enjoy the holidays is the annual “Taste of the Season” event hosted at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort and Spa. On Friday, November 22nd, from 6 to 9 p.m., come enjoy award-winning cuisine served fresh to you by chefs from over 35 Lowcountry restaurants.
Variety is the name of the game
The little samplings on offer are the perfect way to experiment with local food, wine, and seasonal beverages without having to commit to an entire meal at any one restaurant. Best of all, most of the chefs are whipping up something special – exclusive food served only at this event.
In addition, since there are so many foodies in one room, you can bet that everyone’s bringing their A-Game. Looking for a chance to shine amidst the veritable cornucopia of offerings, the showcased establishments are clamoring to serve their very best. Essentially, you get the top service and product that Lowcountry gastronomy has to offer all in one convenient location!
Wondering what kinds of culinary delights you should look forward to?
Think broad and creative: everything from miniature Chicken and Waffles with Apple Cider gastrique; Chestnut Gnocchi with Wild Boar ragu; a sandwich on Toasted Rye crostini featuring Thin Sliced House Made Duck Pastrami, Herbed Goat Cheese, Pickled Red Onion, Demi-Glace Hollandaise, and Micro Mustard Greens, to a liquid nitrogen desert station (eggnog ice cream, anyone?)
There’s also the Decadent Double Chocolate Cookie: Devils Food cookie sandwich with a Kahlua dark chocolate Ganache filling, and then crusted with a toasted salt and coconut rim garnished with a vanilla bean white chocolate sauce. Just thinking about this food is a mouth-watering delight.
As if this weren’t enough to be excited about, while you’re sampling delectable treats, you can also participate in the silent auction. Dreaming of an indulgent escape anywhere from Orlando, to Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach, or Hershey Pennsylvania?
How about dining certificates at some of the establishments whose fare you just sampled? Golf club memberships? Art? All this and more is available for your perusal. What a great (and enjoyable) way to take care of your holiday shopping; beat the rush, skip the mall, and have a pampered evening for yourself to boot.
