    Whether you’re an avid “canner,” someone who values supporting local farmers, or just like to get out of the house and experience new tastes and places, then you should get to know the many farmer’s markets throughout the Lowcountry.  Each brings something different to the market: u-pick produce, prepared foods like loaves of bread and fresh pasta, or crafts by local artisans. You’re sure to find something that piques your interest.

    Dempsey Farms

    Monday – Saturday 9 am to 6 pm Weather Permitting

    Location: 1576 Sea Island Parkway, St. Helena, SC

    Port Royal Farmer’s Market

    Saturday’s 9 am – 12 pm year round, rain or shine

    Location: In Heritage Park on Ribaut Road by Naval Hospital, Take 278 to 170N. Go 14.5 miles over Broad River and turn right onto Savannah Hwy/SC 802 towards Port Royal. Continue on 802/Ribaut Rd past Parris Island, over bridge and end at Heritage Park about 1 mile after the bridge on right.

    Hilton Head Farmer’s Market

    Tuesday’s 9 am to 1 pm, year round, rain or shine

    Get more information:

    Items for sale: local produce, pasture-raised chicken, free-range rabbit, pork, seafood, salsa, fresh sausage, cookies, bread, she crab soup. Have your knives sharpened while shopping.

    Location:  Coastal Discovery Museum 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC

    The Farmers Market at Sea Pines Center

    Tuesday’s 10 am to 2 pm

    Items for sale: Local produce and handmade products

    Location: The Villages at Wexford, Get there by Breeze Trolley – Trolley stop located in Village

    Downtown Beaufort Farmer’s Market

    Wednesday’s 2 pm to 6 pm

    Items for sale:  Fresh local produce, plants, artisans, home baked and canned foods, crafts and more

    Bluffton Farmer’s Market

    Thursday’s 1 to 6 pm year round
