It was an exciting, star-studded week in Bluffton & Hilton Head when reality TV Show ‘The Bachelorette’ came to town for several days. The show had originally planned to film in Hilton Head last fall but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew. Hundreds of residents got tickets to watch the filming and participate as “extras.” They were instructed to wear certain color clothing and arrive hours before to check-in.
Old Town Bluffton’s Calhoun Street was transformed into a concert setting for filming of “The Bachelorette” Rachel Lindsay’s one-on-one date with contestant, Dean. The date began in a secluded location for a private romantic dinner. Around midnight the couple walked around town and “stumbled upon” the concert which was set up at the end of Calhoun Street, near the Church of the Cross. The couple danced the night away while Country singer Russel Dickerson performed.
The following day, Rachel Lindsay went on a group date “booze cruise” with 13 of the contestants. The group date continued at Shelter Cove Marina where they “came upon” a Spelling Bee. The men took the stage to compete against one another for a chance to win the Bachelor Spelling Bee trophy. Collins Group Realty’s Bluffton Office Manager and fan of the show, Vicki Collins, attended both events. The Bachelorette’s dates will continue in various locations this week including an oyster shucking event tonight, March 30, in Bluffton.
