    Today, June 4th, marks the 150th anniversary of the “Burning of Bluffton” by Union forces during the Civil War – an event that destroyed much of the quaint riverfront town. Hilton Head Monthly has a great synopsis of the event by Jeff Fulgham, a Bluffton native and author of the book “The Bluffton Expedition: The Burning of Bluffton, South Carolina, During the Civil War”.
