Collins Group Realty Community Results Project

We are proud to be partnering with The Deep Well Project’s Livable Housing Division for our 2021 project

This initiative focuses on making repairs to owner-occupied homes with CRITICAL NEEDS for the purpose of keeping families SAFE.

Almost all projects are done by volunteer crews on Hilton Head Island, in Bluffton, and surrounding areas of the Lowcountry.

Common housing projects include the installation of wheelchair ramps and lifts, sometimes due to a change in health condition, flooring repairs, roof patches, plumbing, window repair and weatherproofing.

The average cost of each project is $870

Some repairs are much more expensive, like replacing a roof or drilling for a new well, but some are simple projects with labor provided by volunteers.

110 Homes are repaired each year

On average, 385 people are helped annually.

Livable Housing Goals

$40,000 is the fundraising goal of the Community Results Project for 2021.

These funds will provide a “turbo-booster” to the existing Livable Housing project. The funds would not only purchase supplies, such as lumber, nails, and saw blades, but also helps with labor for projects not appropriate for volunteers.

More About Livable Housing

Deep Well’s goal is to help homeowners make their homes safe and “livable.” All situations are considered on an individual needs basis and the home must be owner-occupied to be considered for the program. 

Dedicated volunteer crews perform the labor, using light fixtures, cabinets, electrical switches, outlets, wire, piping, paint, fasteners, and the like from the Livable Housing warehouse. Many of the materials come from donations. In a typical year, volunteers log nearly 3,500 hours on a range of projects.

For years, CGR has been volunteering time and resources in Annual Food Drives for The Deep Well Project, and Toy Drives to benefit Bluffton Self Help and The Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton.

Two Community Vehicles provide assistance to local non-profits, schools, or clients in need.
