The Indigo Run neighborhood located in Hilton Head can be found directly across the highway from the Hilton Head Plantation. This community is made up of 1,780 acres of land and is a quick two miles away from the sandy beaches of South Carolina.

    Indigo Run, SC was the final plantation community to be added to the Hilton Head Island area in the 1980s. It is a private residential golfing community that borders the Broad Creek marshes. The plantation got its name from what was once known as the primary crop in the area, Indigo. This plant was first developed by botanist Eliza Pinckney.

    The Indigo Run community features a variety of luxury amenities for residents to take part in. There is a recreation center that features a community junior Olympic sized swimming pool, several walking trails, tennis courts and golf courses available. The two golf courses in the area were designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. They contain a clubhouse, a golf shop and grille. There are also volleyball courts available as well as a playground for small children.

    The Golden Bear golf club is an exclusive members-only golf club that was also designed by Jack Nicklaus. This semi-private golf course is famous for its high quality layouts and design. Members can host their own business golf tournament or enjoy a meal with friends at Just Jack’s Grill. The club is located at 100 Indigo Run Drive.
