Where is it?

This fun photo of dancing reindeer is from last year’s Bluffton Christmas parade. If you’ve never seen it, it is QUITE the spectacle and definitely worth a trip to Old Town to see. This year’s parade (the 41st annual!) will be held this coming Saturday, December 1st at 11am. The parade starts at Bluffton Town Hall on Bridge Street, winds down Calhoun Street and May River Road and ends at Oscar Frazier Park.

Lowcountry Living

One of the most unique and rewarding aspects of living in the Lowcountry is our astonishing abundance and variety of wildlife. Turtles, dolphins and alligators make the Lowcountry their year-round home alongside deer, snakes, a plethora of beautiful birds and more. Did you also know that at certain times of the year our hospitable coastline is the temporary home to such majestic creatures as whales and even a great white shark?

At present, a 16 foot, nearly two ton great white named Mary Lee is hanging out around the Charleston area. A group called Ocearch tagged Mary Lee in September off the coast of Cape Cod and have been tracking her movements ever since. So far she’s visited Isle of Palms, Daniel Island and perhaps even Charleston Harbour. A little closer to home, she circled about 5 miles off of Hunting Island on Thanksgiving Day. Researchers believe she is feeding on streams of bait fish moving with the Gulf Stream.
