Welcome to the Collins Group Realty Market Pulse through September 2010!
The world of real estate continues to present new twists and turns, making it more exciting, nerve-racking and unpredictable as ever!
Most recently, the impact of “robo-signing” (where banks have essentially automated a foreclosure file review process that, by law, is supposed to be done by an experienced/knowledgeable individual/expert/person) has presented itself hugely with a country-wide stall on foreclosure sales and a reactionary decline in bank stocks. The ultimate impact, of course, remains to be seen, but suffice it to say that this affects banks, property owners, buyers, sellers, agents…you name it. Seemingly the most we can do is stay tuned…
The sales statistics for the greater Hilton Head Island market are still favorable year over year 2010 vs. 2009 in regard to volume of sales. This is absolutely NECESSARY for market stabilization, so spread the word!
I always think it is important to remember and note that the Hilton Head Island marketplace is as appealing as ever. Nothing has changed about our marketplace that would dissuade buyers – in fact, quite the opposite. Hilton Head continues to see infrastructure improvements, our beaches and waters are pristine, our weather is fantastic, the people are amazing, the cultural offerings are compelling, etc., etc.. So, when the market begins to turn back in the right direction, watch out because the demand for our area is VERY HIGH!
